Moral Policing

Let me tell you very frankly that I am sick and tired of this moral policing. In the name of moral policing they cannot do anything they want. Girls should be allowed to wear what they want and that goes for guys too. The bans given are a mockery of morality as such. And even if there is a plan to force any ban it should be done in a very proper manner . Not in any haphazard way. Let us do what we want. We wont disturb anybody. You guys put up the 10 pm deadline, we didn't like it, but we understand that people who do not enjoy what we do, wont like us to wake them up from their slumber. So we are tolerating it. If we can be so accomodating, the guys framing these policies should do too. I am beginning to lose my sense of decency on this matter........

Dear,

Its not whether girls should be allowed to wear what they want or not. Tell me truthfully, how many of us would allow our sisters to wear what we want the girls on the streets to wear? Whether we would like people looking at our siblings the way we look at other girls? Dont tell me that you are one really Mr.Goody two shoes who looks at every female with a look of respect. I know better.

And what is this about you being accomodating of people's need to sleep at 10? Its what most of the people do. Just because we cannot sleep at 10 doesnt mean that everybody should not. Then you will say that I am accomodating of the fact that you do not drink, but be accomodating of the fact that i will drink and create a ruckus in the streets at 12 in the night.

Debu, a personal feeling may not be right in the world sense of view. Think about it. With freedom come responsibilities. Take them up. Enjoy but in control.

Cheers.

Well the line in your comment 'Whether we would like people looking at our siblings the way we look at other girls', in itself is hypocritical. The way you are looking at other girls might be somebody else's sibling. So the point is not that. The point is the girls should be free to wear what they want. If they feel short skirts are good they should wear it. But if they have got a brother who opposes and CONVINCES her to wear long skirts or kurta's that's fine by me (and i think it is fine for everybody), But there cannot be and should not be any RULE, which FORCES us to wear what THEY want and which WE do not want. Hope you got the point bro.
And as far as your comment on the sleeping at 10 is concerned, look closely and you will find that I am not fighting with ur point but rather supporting it. I guess you misunderstood the whole thing. read it again bro...
